Plan a stay

Before you come

Food, vaccines, medication and the little things that help your pet settle in.

Ready for the farm

Vaccines

Dogs need current DAP-family vaccines and annual Bordetella. Accepted distemper combinations include DHPP, DAPP2 and DA2PPV. Cats need current FVRCP.

Puppies need their second set, including DAP and Bordetella; kittens need their second FVRCP booster. Wait 5 to 7 days after that set before visiting.

Please obtain and send the vaccine records yourself, or ask your vet to email them to the front desk.

What to pack

Bring their own food, enough for the stay plus extra. Kibble is available at $5 a cup if needed. Frozen raw food is accepted when packed in portions.

A washable blanket and a few safe toys are welcome. No dog beds, since September 1, 2024, and no blankets with loose filling. The resort supplies dishes and some bedding.

Medication

Discuss medication with the front desk ahead of the stay. Send any changes 48 hours before arrival, and bring the original veterinary packaging with the dose.

Each dose is logged. Medication is given between 7 am and 7 pm; insulin and injections can’t be given. Fortiflora powder and Glucosamine tablets can be added at mealtimes at no charge.

The daily medication fee is confirmed when booking.

Intact pets and heat

Intact dogs can board with separate play, but can’t join the main daycare group. Discuss socialisation arrangements before arrival.

Females in heat, or due to enter heat during the stay, and pregnant pets can’t board.

Holidays

Stays including December 20 to 30 have a seven-day minimum. There are no drop-offs or pickups on December 25 or January 1.

Holiday payment and cancellation dates are confirmed when booking.

A few more questions

Do you have staff overnight?
No. Staff leave around 7 pm. The Shardlow family lives just up a staircase from the barns, someone is always on site, and the buildings have security and alarms.
What if my pet gets sick?
The resort contacts you and gets veterinary care as needed. The costs are billed to you.
Can I get photos?
Email the front desk and ask. Staff take photos during the day, but not of every guest every day.
Can pets share a suite?
Up to three pets from one home can share.
How is a stay charged?
By calendar day. Arrival and departure days both count as full days, with no long-stay discount. A 50% deposit is due when you book.
