Catio time happens when it’s between 18 and 25 °C. In winter it’s supervised.

A room with a window

Every suite is private, with a window to watch the farm and something to climb. The building has its own heating and air conditioning, it’s designed to be easy to keep clean, and there’s quiet music and aromatherapy through the day.

A cat’s day at the farm

The cattery keeps its own routine, separate from the dogs. Scroll through it, or drag the sun.

  1. 7:00 am

    Breakfast in the cattery.

    Cattery staff start at 7 with breakfast and fresh water, then clean each suite. From 7 until about 11, one of the team stays up with the cats.

    Doors open.

    Check-in and check-out run from 7:30 to noon, every day of the week.

  3. 18–25° Celsius

    When it’s warm enough.

    Catio time.

    About half the suites open onto an enclosed outdoor catio. Cats go out when it’s between 18 and 25 °C, and in winter outdoor time is supervised.

  4. 11:00 am

    One person, two buildings.

    From 11 to 3, one staff member looks after both the cattery and the Lap Dog Lodge.

  5. 12:00 pm

    The gate closes until 3.

    The resort is closed to visitors from noon to 3 every day. If you’re dropping off or picking up, come before noon or after 3.

  6. 3:00 pm

    Pickups, and a fresh tidy.

    Doors reopen at 3 for check-in and check-out until 6. Between 3 and 7, every litter box gets another freshening up.

  7. 7:00 pm

    Everyone’s in.

    Staff head home around 7. The Shardlow family lives on the property, just up a staircase from the barns. Someone is always on site, and the buildings have security and alarms.

Before your cat comes

Vaccines

A current FVRCP vaccine. Kittens need their second set of shots, then a wait of 5 to 7 days before visiting.

Medication

Tell the front desk ahead and bring the vet’s packaging with the dose. Insulin and injections can’t be given.

What to pack

Their own food, enough for the stay plus a little extra, and a washable blanket if they have a favourite.

$25 a day for one cat. $42 for two and $55 for three sharing a suite. Plus GST, per calendar day.
